10/13/10: Carl Fry reports from Washington that the GOP and their allies the Tea Partiers are still united in attempting to discredit Obama and
take away the power of the President to act after the "mid-term" election. Then, the President will just be a figure head, unable to carry out the
work of the nation. This will accomplish removing the President from office while he continues to hold the title of President. Of course, Fry
states, Obama has brought much of this upon himself by his indecisive actions on single payer health care, stopping the two wars that are
ongoing, and allowing the wealth to call the shots on the economy. If Obama would have grabbed the initiative then he could have put the
GOP and Tea Partiers on the defensive.
Charlie, aka Carl, Fry reports from Washington as we go to press on 5-13-2009: the Republican Party (GOP), continues its obstructionist ways
attempting to protect the wealthy of the upper crust while stealing from the rest of us. Specifically the GOP has done everything within its
power to prevent a national Single Payer Health Plan that would provide full, top flight, choose your own doctor, etc plan to every American.
The gone offs want to keep the corrupt, private insurers in charge of health care even though they are the ones who have screwed up
system so bad that it forces bankruptcy on more families than any other cause. SINGLE PAYER FOLKS, LIKE ME, WANT A SYSTEM WHERE THE
GOVERNMENT RUNS THE PROGRAM, LIKE SOCIAL SECURITY, AND EVERY AMERICAN GETS ALL THE HIGHEST QUALITY, QUICKLY PROVIDED
CARE THAT THEY NEED! Health care needs to be considered a CIVIL AND SOCIAL RIGHT, like the right to vote and the right of free speech and
not a cash cow to make immense fortunes for upper crust parasites who get rich off our misery.
Update from Carl Fry, 12/30/08: Today the right wing of the Republican Party has launched a new attack on President-elect Obama and the
Democratic Party for the selection of a black man (oh horrors), Roland W. Burris, to replace Obama in the Senate representing Illinois. This is
another bogus bit of bull coming from a party than honors Mississippi Republicans who lauded the Klan. And, of course, the choice was made
by the embattled Governor of Illinois as is his right and duty under the Illinois Constitution and past practice. Mr. Burris has served as
Attorney General of Illinois and has a distinguished record of public service and in his private practice as a lawyer (not my favorite people by
any means). Earlier in the day Rush Limburger suggested that the economic meltdown in our nation was part of a plot by the Democratic Party
to win elections. Has the right wing no shame? Apparently not. And they are too addled to recognize justice and truth.
Update from Carl Fry, 12/14/08: The neo-fascist look-alike Republican National Committee and its right wing cronies are continuing
their efforts to discredit Barack Obama in a lying manner by attempting to link Obama to the discredited and arrested governor of
Illinois as well as blame Obama for the state of the economy. One can expect these scurrilous charges to continue from here on out
even though today John McCain called the RNC out for its tactics. It seems even McCain is disgusted by the antics of the
desperate, dangerous, rightwingnut ideologues that have seized the Republican Party.
Update from Carl Fry, 11/24/08: In the last days of the election Palin and McCain began throwing out the term "socialist" to describe
Obama and questioned Barack and Michelle's loyalty in an effort to foster division and hatred. Now that Barack Obama has been
victorious in his election fight to create a better America of justice and equality it is important that we all remain vigilant to defeat the
efforts of the neo-fascist right wing GOP to prevent Obama from using the power he has won. The rightwing, American brownshirts
who supported Palin/McCain have been whipped into a fury and they will not easily surrender power. Rejoice but remain on alert to
the machinations of the defeated GOP. It should be noted that probably the vast majority of GOP voters are decent, loving and
caring Americans and they are not responsible for the disaster that a nut case minority has foisted upon their party. Although the
landslide characteristics of the progressive Democratic triumph make it less likely that attempts will be make to foil the new
President there is no reason to believe that the right wing forces, given an opportunity, will not respond.
Update from Carl Fry, 10/6/08: The major press, goaded by the GOP begin a new concerted attack on Barack Obama claiming that he
is a friend of Bill Ayers a former radical and a university professor in Illinois. Hogwash. The two men are acquainted and Professor
Ayers once gave $200 to an Obama campaign. These attacks are being made by the slime that produced the Swift Boat attacks on
John Kerry in 2004 and evidence the serious hole that McCain and Palin are in --- they can't run on the issues because the issues
have turned against them, Bush is an absolute failure as a President and the Republic Party hasn't got a candidate to stand behind
that can offer anything new. So now we have it: Hanoi Hilton John McCain, who recorded anti-American speeches for his captors in
North Vietnam, allows his campaign to accuse Obama of disloyalty.
4/24/08: (the original article) The ruling circles of the United States are concerned that the next president of the United States might
be out-of-control and not a part of the Washington Consensus on foreign and economic policy that has driven the neo-liberal
agenda for the past 35 years. This concern has impacted the Democratic Party primary election season in some very strange ways:
Republican mouthpieces such as Rush Limbaugh calling for the nomination of Hillary Rodham Clinton to head the Democrats
instead of Barack Obama, attacks on Obama on the basis of his “religion” (He was repeatedly called a Muslim even after it was clear
he is a Christian.), a photo of him dressed in inappropriate “African” dress when he visited his grandmother, she is Kenyan, in
Kenya --- yet many foreigners when they come to the US dress in “western attire (whatever the hell that is)”, and so on and so forth
including the fact that the minister of the church that Obama attends made statements as part of his sermons that some people
found offensive although other politicians have not been held responsible for their religious supporters sermons or statements.
The point of the racist and class attacks has been to eliminate Barack Obama before the general election. Then the election of one of
two acceptable candidates, Clinton and McCain --- both bought and paid for by the rich and powerful historical governing class in
America --- will insure the continuation of policies on both domestic and foreign affairs that increase the wealth and power of the
ruling interests and that further diminish the power and income of the general population of the country.
Unfortunately, to the consternation of the governing circles, Senator Obama has made a very strong run for the Democratic
nomination and is on the verge of securing it. A large proportion of the support for Mr. Obama is the young electorate, 18 to 30 years
of age, and the Black or African-American electorate who has become deeply disenchanted with the status quo and has been
energized by Barack as a candidate of hope. Furthermore, Barack has attracted strong support among both men and women of all
colors, including the “white” working class. Together these constituencies hope that he will get the US out of the two wars that we
are bogged down in, they hope that he will energize the economy such that young people see a possibility again of jobs and
incomes, they hope that he builds a national healthcare program so health is a right not a privilege, and they hope that the country
expands educational opportunity and progress on social issues in the United States to build a truly open loving and tolerant multi-
cultural society --- something that McCain does not project.
Such changes endanger the wealth and power of the ruling elements who are accustomed to having a subservient government in
the White House that cuts their taxes, cuts social programs or privatizes them, and uses the national wealth to fund the expeditions
of the military/industrial/surveillance complex in wars to project and to project and protect the “empire” of the one remaining super
power.
With all of this in mind, this author made the decision to speak with friends within the intelligence services to ascertain what
contingency plans were being made to cope with this situation. My sources only spoke with me off the record since if their identities
were revealed their positions within the various agencies would be liquidated immediately and finally and their opportunity for
employment, even in the private sector, would be at an end. However from the series of conversations it was possible to put
together a basic understanding of how the problem of an out-of-control President would be handled if Barack Obama is the eventual
Democrat Party nominee and if he is elected in November.
1. Obama will be safe from assassination during the election campaign. If he were eliminated during the campaign then the
problems of the nation would be compounded as nasty questions arose and the entire election fell into confusion, finger pointing,
mass disillusionment and then disengagement of the young and the African American population from participation in electoral
politics. This might well lead to chaos in the streets. Such a catastrophe might require the implementation of a period of martial law
and the setting aside of the general election --- a prospect that just can not be allowed to happen.
2. The election has to be viewed by the public as fair and honestly run in comparison to 2000 and 2004, less charges of racism arise
in the handling of the election. A circumstance that would embarrass the United States internationally as well as promoting
dissension and domestic trouble across the country.
3. The interim period between the election and the assumption of the Presidency by Barack Obama will of necessity be a period of
great rejoicing by the people of the nation who have supported his candidacy and this period will also be a time when the President-
elect will be secure from attack for the reasons already stated. The nation would be divided by any overt or covert action against the
president-elect and any attack would bring about immediate finger pointing as well as chaos in the streets that would have to be
controlled by the use of force.
4. The Inauguration and the “party atmosphere” would also be a time of maximum protection for the nascent presidency of the new
President.
5. During all the time of the first four points listed above, the machinery is being put together to take action to protect the nation ---
and eliminate the threat to the nation from an "out-of-control president". Different scenarios will be prepared by the private sector
intelligence services for covert operations by contractors such as SewageWater (a big contractor in Iraq) to resolve the problem.
The main prerequisite to a successful action will be a credible scenario that can be spun to the advantage of the ruling circles and
the industrial/military/surveillance complex so that they may reassert and maintain their control of the Washington Consensus and
the role of the one super power.
Therefore, when action is taken to eliminate Barack Obama it will of necessity be after he has been inaugurated and has occupied
the White House for a short but acceptable period of time, perhaps two or three months, but before he has any chance to do any
substantive damage to the Washington Consensus. Furthermore, the deadly attack on the President will be staged to occur so it
seems to be at the hands of “Arab”, "Islamic" or “Iranian” extremist forces who dare to attack a popular American President on
American soil. The Pentagon, still in the hands of General Patraeus and the Bushites, will call for immediate bombing and invasion
of Iran as well as intensification of the War on Terrorism to eliminate their threat to the United States and its interests. It will be stated
that the constitutional rights of Americans will be, must be abridged, temporarily, to beat back this terrorist threat to the nation.

This spin will have two effects that are of utmost importance: 1. It will direct the rage of young voters and of the Black population
away from looking internally for the perpetrators and thereby eliminate much of the chaos that would bring people into the streets if
the action looked like a home grown coup by the American intelligence services at the service of the historical governing classes. 2.
The presentation of foreign elements as responsible for this outrage against the United States will create a milieu in which hatred for
“extremist” Arabs and Muslims as well as Iranians will be socially acceptable and allow otherwise thoughtful Americans to vent their
sorrow through demonstrations of their hatred on one hand and support for patriotic military actions, flag waving, and calls for
Persian blood and for nuclear bombs to be dropped on Iran on the other hand.
6. The necessary military/intelligence operatives who do the action will be spirited out of the country and there will be no record of
their residence in the country at the time of the action. They will be brought in surreptitiously and taken out of the country in the
same manner. However, as part of their scenario they will leave a few subtle, but unmistakable clues that will be found by the secret
service, intelligence services and the military who will all declare from the evidence that the assassination was without doubt
conducted by agents of the axis of evil, principally by Iran and their Al Qaeda allies.
7. Any critics who even begin to ask questions about the assassination will be scalded with criticism questioning their patriotism,
love of country, and their allegiance to the axis of evil. Critics will be silenced.
8. War will ensue against Iran utilizing all the weapons available to the U.S. military, including nuclear and thermo-nuclear weapons,
in a frightening display to the rest of the world of the consequence of confrontation with the one remaining super power. There will
be no need for an invasion of Iran because those who survive the initial air and ballistic missile attacks will die from radiation,
starvation, and the other results of the attacks --- there will be no quagmire and American triumphalism will be the end product of the
elimination of a danger out-of-control president. The covert action plans will have cut many heads with one sword.
Amazed at the audacity and the beauty of this action plan I questioned my friends about the feasibility of what they have described
and their reaction was to question whether my questions were serious. They said, to a man, that not only was this feasible but it is
necessary and will be carried out in defense of the world market economy, freedom and democracy, and the American Way of Life
that we are trying to bring to people all around the globe as a Christian message of love of humanity. Americans will be able to carry
out mass blood shed and feel pride in their undertaking doing God’s work.
On the other hand several of my contacts confessed to me that they hoped that Barack Obama would never even get the Democratic
Party nomination so that these plans did not have to be carried to fruition. But in the meantime the pieces are being put in place,
action is already underway. Covert action, like warfare, is not a spur of the moment enterprise but must be organized in a business
like attitude with attention to detail, sufficient logistics to insure success, and the recruitment of the proper, highly trained, and
reliable people. Some of my contacts stated that women assassins might be part of the mix in order to further fan hatred of America’
s enemies: see the axis of evil turns otherwise loving women into weapons of war.
These are serious times but the patriots in our national intelligence services and military are aware of the danger of an out-of-control
President and the nation may be assured that all will be well.
As I considered all that I had learned in my investigation I felt driven to think: is their an alternative? Is there a way for our nation to
go forward with Barack Obama without an assassination? What would it take for Barack Obama to serve the people of the nation if
he were elected?
I felt it was imperative to explore this possibility so I called some carefully chosen sources to ask what could be done to keep Obama
alive. Yes, I was told there is a way to stop this plan from going forward but it would take audacity on the part of the new President
and tremendous support from the Congress. In the first month in office the new President would have to fire the heads and top
ranking officers of all the security agencies and intelligence agencies, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and much of the command structure
of the U.S. Military and the several branches of military: Army, Navy, Marines, and Air Force. With a very quick move, the logistics
necessary for a successful action against Obama would not be forthcoming due to confusion in the command structure.
On the other hand the new President and his Cabinet would have to appoint new people to fill the military and intelligence forces.
The new appointees would have to be people who hold allegiance to the Constitution of the United States and to our republican
form of government. Is this possible? Yes it is possible but not likely because President Obama, like all new executives, will feel
compelled to depend to some extent on the people left from the previous administration and if the people in the military and
intelligence apparatus realize that they are about to be put out to pasture they will not go willingly. It is possible that they would just
move up the time for the change and public order be damned.
